With so many miles of coastline, you'd think Shetland would be teeming with surf spots but, while there is certainly tidal power aplenty, Quendale Bay is one of the few places where you can actually catch a clean wave.
At around a mile long, Quendale is the longest beach in Shetland and is a favourite for dog walkers. The beach is backed by sand dunes and the bay has rocky headlands.
