The Old Haa of Burravoe, built around 1672, now operates as a museum. It showcases exhibits on local and natural history, an arts and crafts gallery, a tearoom, a shop, toilets, a garden, and a visitor information point.

6th April until 5th October 2025, Monday to Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 2pm - 5pm.

Directions

Yell, one of Shetland's most northerly islands, is accessible by ferry from Toft on the Mainland.

To reach the Old Haa:

  • Follow the A970/A968 to Toft and take the ferry to Ulsta.
  • From Ulsta, take the B9081 to Burravoe.
  • Turn right at the school onto Broch Road and continue onto Meadowbank Road until you reach the Old Haa, where parking is available.

Geo-art exhibits can be found in the garden, while geology displays are located inside.
