Skeld is well placed for discovering Shetland’s ’westside’. The coast offers excellent walks as well as boating or kayaking. There are good beaches at Reawick and Sand, many fishing lochs and impressive archaeology, including a broch and the mysterious staneydale ‘temple’. Keen gardeners will enjoy Da Gairdins o’ Sand or, at Tresta, Lea Gardens. The site, adjacent to a marina, has a children’s play area and a wildlife hide.
