Join us for a hands-on sailing experience aboard our historic sailing vessel the Swan. Built in Shetland, she was launched in 1900 as one of the finest fishing vessels in the Scottish fleet. Following a complete restoration, she was relaunched in 1996 and has travelled far and wide providing authentic sail training experiences.
No proir sailing experience is required to take a trip on the Swan, as our experienced crew will provide sailing instruction every step of the way.
We offer a range of trips from April - September, as well as private charters for groups of up to 12.
Trips leaving from Lerwick can take a choice of routes, including:
- Sailing south to see Mousa, home to the finest example of an Iron Age Broch, a large seal colony and some incredible coastline and wildlife
- Going around Bressay and visiting the spectacular seabird cliffs of Noss National Nature Reserve - renowned as one of Europe’s finest wildlife sites
- Heading north or south along Shetland's Mainland coastline, on a discovery of beautiful bays and quiet coastlines not often seen from the sea
Our skipper will always make best use of the weather, wind, and our incredible wildlife and scenery. You will be well entertained during your trip by taking an active role in sailing the Swan, including hauling on ropes, taking a turn on the helm, and keeping a lookout, as well as spotting all the wildlife on offer.
Check out our website for the trips on offer or e-mail us to enquire about a private charter.
